The patent pool is designed to lower prices of HIV drugs and increase access to them in the developing world. Lack of education and stigma amongst societies is the reason HIV/AIDS has become a problem for mankind. I read in the paper, that according to a doctor, most of his female patients who are HIV+ are usually infected by their husbands who had previously been living abroad. Though there is talk of a law making it compulsory for couples to be tested before marriage, lack of education, (especially amongst women even in the upper classes), is leading not only in the spread of the disease, but the stigma of this disease
