Me, in Focus meinfocus-blog.tumblr.com

This blog liked one of first photoshop drawings on my stupid art blog years ago. I checked it out and remember it to this day; and because I still remember it I decided to revisit it and share it with everyone.

What I found so mind-blowing about Heather’s blog was the purpose behind it. She had just gotten divorced at that time, and noticed she didn’t have many  photos of herself, or anyone to take them. Her self portraits redefined what self portraiture are for me; how images can be incredibly powerful if we simply get over being slaves to the convention of ‘pretty’.

I encourage everyone to check this blog out to get a better idea of how you can discover yourself, and use photography/portraiture in a way that deviates from convention, and important deviating from that convention is. These portraits will help you better understand the power of images, and how self portraits can be beautiful without a smile or conventional settings.

28 Days Till The Odyssey Ends…

… the odyssey of being a teenager that is.

It’s really odd for me at this point, considering the fact that when i turned 13 i was terrified of becoming a teenager, and now i’m in my last days of being one. 6 years man, 6 years of being a teen, and they’ve been so much; full of so much, so emotional, so different. They’ve really defined me.

Sigh… now not only do i have to change my age everywhere by the last thursday of this month, but i also have to change my blog’s title (can’t change the old url, too sentimental, that’s why i have the .co.vu url :P).

Any suggestions?

Have A Whale Of A Time

“Japans whale-hunting, and annual dolphin slaughter are heavily criticized activities, with the main reason being that it is inhumane, and no matter how much you try to deny it, in its essence, it is truly inhumane to attach such a defenseless and majestic creature, so ruthlessly and without hesitation; it is not only inhumane, it is abnormal, to not show weakness nor hesitation at such a sight.

Human beings are better than that, better than ruthlessly killing these animals whose flesh nor any other part no longer hold any significance. We, as human beings, have been given the upper-hand in this world by God, because we are able to advance in thought and practice, which means creating traditions, and leaving some of them behind for the sake of advancement, or else the entire point of humanity becomes redundant, and what fun is life when we can’t come up with something new to do?”
