I was going through my certificates when I came across this. I like this one because of what my baba said; a moment that hasn’t happened very often, at least not so obviously; a moment that’s stayed with me.
When I had accepted it and the award, and came and sat down with them and showed them the stuff, my mother started reading out what was written, when he pointed out to her, rather tearfully and happily that: “this isn’t just any certificate; look what it says; it is a certificate of HONOUR”.

Lily is a Great Dane that has been blind since a bizarre medical condition required that she have both eyes removed. For the last 5 years, Maddison, another Great Dane, has been her sight. The two are, of course, inseparable.
This is just beautiful.
When he died, his wife commissioned this sculpture, as an expression of her love for him:
